Blizzard Forces Name Changes and Removes Some Forever Beta Access

Blizzard is forcing name changes on Forever Beta characters that break the naming rules, and some people whose names were way outside the Code of Conduct lost beta access.

Dual names let people get more creative with character names, but Blizzard says some players "took this opportunity to reveal too much about themselves," and those players are out of the beta.

"The World of Warcraft team takes the safety and inclusiveness of our game very seriously." The WoW dev team did this themselves, reviewed each case, and Customer Service won't take appeals.

Blizzard says a system to enforce naming rules is going up very soon, and told testers not to "test" it, because testers can get punished and lose beta access. Names should stay respectful and within policy. Blizzard support has a refresher on the code of conduct.
