Blizzard is still acting on botting and bought gold in WoW Forever

Blizzard is still acting on botting and bought gold in the WoW Forever beta, will keep doing so after launch, and is adding a warning on trades with strangers.

Blizzard has been banning accounts caught botting for gold in the WoW: Forever beta, plus accounts that bought gold or knowingly took illicit gold. They've been doing that since their last note on real money transactions, and they say they'll keep going after RMT in the beta and in the live game after Forever launches.

A warning will soon show up whenever you trade with strangers. It reads: "Be wary of accepting gold from unknown or suspicious sources. If the provider is engaged in Real Money Transactions, you could put your account at risk of closure. Please see the following support article for more information: https://support.blizzard.com/help/article/379634"

Here's how Blizzard put the rule: "Our stance on RMT in World of Warcraft is crystal clear: any account belonging to any player that is found to have participated in generating, selling, buying, or receiving illicit gold is subject to the gold being removed, account suspensions, or permanent account closures."

That's what they're already enforcing in the beta, and what they say they'll keep using after launch.

They also thanked players who gave feedback on this: "You’ve participated in making this Beta invaluable to us as we refine our processes around this and many other issues."
